Construction set to begin on Brisbane’s Proximity
With 57 apartments worth $26.4 million now sold, construction is set to begin on Brisbane’s latest luxury apartment development, Proximity Hamilton.
The developers, Oakstead Investments, today announced that earthworks would start in June 2014 with the 24-month build scheduled for completion in mid 2016.
Designed by celebrated Brisbane architects Cottee Parker, Proximity Hamilton is a stunning 14-storey, 127-apartment tower in the exclusive Portside Wharf precinct.
Prices start from just $330,000 for a one-bedroom 60sqm apartment, $495,000 for an 85sqm two-bedroom apartment, up to $655,000 for a two-bed, two bathroom 104sqm apartment with panoramic river and city views.
Oakstead Investments director Robert Welborn also announced the appointment of builder RCQ Construction, one of Queensland’s most respected construction companies.
A division of the Sunshine Coast-based Reed Property Group, RCQ Construction has brought to life countless projects across the state in the last 25 years, from high rises and gated residential communities to hotels and retail centres.
“We are very happy to have appointed RCQ’s experienced team for the project,” Mr Welborn said.
“The RCQ team has a well earned reputation for delivering high quality buildings on time and on budget, as well as offering industry-leading design and construction solutions.”
Peter Malady, managing director of marketing agents 360 Project Marketing, said the period from the project’s release in October 2013 to the start of construction had been remarkably short, due mostly to brisk sales.
“The swift turnaround speaks to the calibre of the developers, and the project management and marketing teams behind Proximity Hamilton,” he said.
“It’s also testament to the development’s location, quality product offering, value proposition and stunning architectural design.
“These apartments tick a lot of boxes for people – location, connectivity to the CBD, airport and employment, and shops, restaurants and gyms all within walking distance.
“Proximity Hamilton is last installment in the Portside Wharf story and all those factors combined are what’s made it work, made it irresistible to buyers.”
Mr Malady said it was “a monumental task to bring a project like this out of the ground” and that many people had been working around the clock to turn the blueprints into reality.
“This construction announcement is fantastic news for Proximity Hamilton purchasers who are now well on their way to enjoying life in one of Brisbane’s most prestigious suburbs, while investment buyers edge closer to strong returns.”
Aside from spacious, modern design, Proximity Hamilton offers direct access to the best that Portside has to offer – fine dining, boutiques, 24 hour gyms, a new Woolworths, Doomben and Eagle Farm racecourses, cinemas, river walks, the CBD and ferries.
Residents will also benefit from secure car parking, two lifts for convenient entry, and the use of a stunning podium-level pool with sundeck and spectacular views towards the Brisbane CBD and south along the city’s meandering river.
Apartments are available in a choice of two colour schemes with impressive floor to ceiling windows, air conditioning, reconstituted stone benchtops, European appliances, built in wardrobes, ample storage and quality finishes including fully tiled entry, living and dining areas for selected apartments.
